(Broken record..Blah, Blah, Blah..Another Ray Paradis & Super Fly Striped Bass slay session)
Wow...Mother Nature has really lit the fuse on the powder keg...Another great day of Striper fishing on the Kennebec....Today Ray Paradis & I had a A 50 fish day to complement the 80 fish day that we had with Dennis Kelly earlier this week!! Ocean bright Stripers are pouring into the Kennebec to gorge on juvie herring in preparation for the fall migration...Both tides have been fish very well in areas of heavy current washing over bottom structure. A properly presented jig will get demolished everytime through the strike zone...the next 3 weeks should provide some unreal fishing for light tackle anglers...Very exciting times right now!!!

I cannot believe the manner in which we are just keeping lines tight! All tides are on full throttle, and over 200 stripers in the past 5 days are the proof. Two kids in a candy store...
ReplyDeleteIt really is an amazing pace that we are setting...full throttle indeed...putting the pedal to the metal(pun intended)
ReplyDeleteHow deep are you fishing?
ReplyDeleteMarc, the best answer is for you to call Captain Harris at 691-0745 and invest in a charter. The fishing is so situational minute by minute that you must adapt with it. The Captain will help you figure that out. It's really complex and cannot be answered in a blog...
ReplyDeleteThanks. I probably will give him a call. It just seems like to find a place where you can catch 50+ fish it's in deeper current. All the fish schooling together this time of year?
DeleteMarc...thanks for the question..Right now we are mainy fishing the big schools of fish that are hanging out on the channel edges and on structure in 20-40 feet...that said there are fish spread across every conceivable bit of habitat...if you like shallow water fishing that is very doable but usually you will trade less numbers for that( not always) I am very confident in every aspect of the striper game...it just so happens that right now the deep water stuff is too easy & fun to pass up
